Matthew 5-7, the Sermon on the Mount, is probably my most favorite part of the Bible. I was reading an article out of a magazine which discussed the first 12 verses of this section. Matthew 5:1-12 is most commonly know as the Beatitudes. I have never truly understood nor do I currently understand all the implications about this passage. However, in reading this article written by R. J. Rushdoony, I have a little more insight as to what Christ was saying about "meekness, mercy, and being pure in heart." Everyone out there should take 5 minutes to read this article.

They are "starving for food" as a means to get a glimpse of what it is like to truly be hungry. Fasting will take you on amazing journeys. God in is awesome wisdom, stretches you and challenges you to grow more in Him. For more information about the 30 Hour Famine visit their website at
